Ingredients
For the Bolognese sauce:
500 g ground beef (of your choice)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 medium carrot, grated
400 g canned peeled tomatoes (or 4 chopped fresh tomatoes)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon oregano (optional)
1 bay leaf
To assemble the lasagna:
250 g lasagna noodles (pre-cooked or traditional)
500 g sliced ​​mozzarella cheese
200 g grated parmesan cheese
1 jar white sauce (optional, for layers)
Instructions
Prepare the Bolognese sauce:
In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
Add the ground beef and cook until golden.
Add the grated carrot and sauté for another 2 minutes.
Add the peeled tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
To assemble the lasagna:
In a medium baking dish, start with a layer of Bolognese sauce.
Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layers (sauce, noodles, cheese) until all the ingredients are used, ending with the noodles and covering with the Bolognese sauce.
Finish with a generous layer of grated Parmesan cheese.
To prepare:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F).
Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbling.
