Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Origin
Popularized in the 1980s and 1990s in the United States, the strawberry and banana smoothie has become a delicious and nutritious choice for breakfasts and healthy snacks, due to its sweet flavor and creamy texture, in addition to being easy to prepare.

Ingredients:
1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup of natural or Greek yogurt
1/2 cup of orange juice or milk (can adjust according to preference)
1 dessert spoon of honey or sugar (optional)
Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:
Prepare the fruit: Wash the strawberries (if they are fresh) and remove the leaves. Peel the banana.
Blend in the blender: Place the strawberries, banana, yogurt, orange juice (or milk) and honey or sugar in the blender.
Mix well: Blend until you get a smooth and creamy mixture. If you want a colder texture, add a few ice cubes and blend again.
Adjust the consistency: If it is too thick, add more liquid and blend again. If it is too thin, add more fruit or ice.
Serve: Pour into tall glasses, garnish with a slice of strawberry or banana, if desired, and enjoy!

Servings:
Makes approximately 2 servings.

Preparation time:
Approximately 5 to 7 minutes.

Estimated calories:
Each serving has approximately 150 to 200 calories, depending on the ingredients used (e.g., yogurt, honey, plant-based milks).

Tips:

You can combine other fruits of your choice and they will also be delicious.
For a healthier, protein-rich smoothie, add a spoonful of peanut butter or a little protein powder.
Use frozen strawberries for a thicker, colder texture without adding ice.
Experiment with different types of milk (almond, coconut, soy) for flavor variations.
A pinch of chia or flaxseed can increase your fiber and omega-3 intake.
