Chicken Parmesan, also known as Chicken Parmigiana, is a popular Italian-American dish.
Here's a simple recipe for you to try at home.
Ingredients:
1. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2. Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3. 2 cups all-purpose flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
4. 4 large eggs, beaten with 2 tablespoons water and seasoned with salt and pepper
5. 2 cups panko bread crumbs
6. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
7. 4 cups marinara sauce
8. 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
9. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
10. 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
3. Dredge each breast in the flour and tap off excess, then dip in the egg and let excess drip off, then dredge on both sides in the bread crumbs.
4. Heat the oil over medium-high flame in a large ovenproof skillet.
5. Add the chicken to the hot pan and cook until golden and crisp on both sides, about 6 minutes per side.
6. Transfer the chicken to a plate and drain off most of the oil from the skillet.
7. Return the skillet to the heat and add the marinara sauce. Arrange the chicken in the sauce and sprinkle with the basil leaves, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
8. Bake in the oven until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes. 9. Serve the chicken Parmesan with pasta, if desired. Enjoy your meal!
